Before I got this blanket, I was up several times a night and it took me several hours to fall asleep, even taking sleep aids and prescribed medication. When I was shopping for a weighted blanket, I knew I didn't want a solid color, because I'm a little quirky, and I dont do basic. When I found this blanket, I was very excited. I did a lot of research about this blanket, and I read that a lot of people get duvet covers for their weighted blankets, but I didn't want to pout out extra money, and I wanted to feel the material on the blanket as well. So, I took a chance and I got this blanket.First night with my blanket, I got in my bed, and didn't really notice the extra 20lbs on top of me. I also fell asleep very quickly, and I slept all the way till my alarm went off the next morning.As for the feel of the blanket, It is very soft, with the microfiber mink material on the bottom, and the design on the top of the blanket is also very bold and does not look cheap. It is really pretty. The bottom side is navy blue, and the top is navy red, a lighter sky blue, and is also has a few shades of pink in it.It is also worth noting that I have 6 children, and I was a little worried when I order this blanket because a few of them are only in preschool. And they like to bundle up in bed with us in the morning. There is a warning to keep this away from kids, and I'm guessing because of the weight. With that being said, they still crawl in bed with us, but only my side of the bed has the blanket on it. Some like the blanket, some dont. Overall though, it hasnt been a problem with them. I can understand not using this if you cosleep with a baby or a toddler that is not too mobile yet, as it is possible that they may be able to wiggle themselves under in a way that makes it impossible for them to get out.Overall, this is a great bang for you buck.This blanket is truly a godsend.Perfect size, perfect weight.
